This weekend there is such a special opportunity for our Grow Club community!

Lea Sevigny is a teacher who I met back in March and she runs a business called “Joyful Wildcrafting” right here in our community.

Through her business, she teaches about foraging for uncultivated plants that can be used for food, herbal remedies, and crafts.

That means that she takes people outside and shows them all the uses of the plants that grow naturally in spaces that are left to be “wild.”

I couldn’t believe how much she showed us when I was in her class. She explained the many uses of pine trees, plants that I normally think of as just weeds, and even wild roses!

Foraging in the woods made me feel like an adventurous kid again in the best of ways!

And Lea will be at the greenhouse later this week to host a class right in our backyard. We will walk the property together and Lea will teach us to ID plants and explain how they can be used. She is also bringing along plants that we can taste!

This is a family friendly event, and it would be so cool to learn together what Lea has to share with us!
