This last Saturday one of my little Grow Club friends, Audrey, told me a story from the summer.

Well, actually her mom did while Audrey put all her focus toward the salt painting project in front of her!

Just a few weeks ago, Audrey’s new Pre-k teachers came to her house to meet before school started. Audrey ran to her room to bring them some of her artwork. She brought back the cotton ball pounding craft you remember we did at Grow Club back in June!

The teachers loved what Audrey had made and they asked her to bring the artwork to school so that she could share it with her new classmates.

It’s so cool that now that piece of artwork is hanging in Audrey’s new classroom, a familiar little piece of home and a symbol of Audrey as she starts her new school journey!

It made me realize that some of the simple things we do end up being a bigger part of someone’s life than we initially think they might be. 💚

Looking ahead, I’m so excited for what is coming up because this weekend at Grow Club we are making a piece of artwork that will make our garden last forever!

Using pieces from the garden >leaves, fruit, flowers< each kid is going to make their very own fabric print that can be taken home and hung up or placed on a table as a reminder of our summertime gardens!

Fabric printing craft with food!

This is such a fun and simple way to capture the garden in a keepsake!

And it is incredible how beautiful some of these objects stamp onto the cloth! Who knew an onion makes such an intricate design?!

And while we create the masterpiece, we are going to be munching on some fresh garden salsa, because these fresh tastes right from the backyard won’t be here too much longer! 😢

This event runs this Saturday, Sept 5!

Drop in between 10am-12pm at our Grow Club hangout in Koetsier’s Greenhouse.

Family tickets are only $10 and are bought here!

I’m looking forward to seeing you for the garden art morning +munching!

Your friend,

Caroline

P.S. Maybe you have out-of-town plans for the holiday weekend? No problem! Coming soon we are having a Bird Migration class 🪶 taught by our very own Grow Club mom, Dr. Sarah Saunders. Sarah works for the National Audubon Society and she will be our special guest, teaching us how Michigan is a massive “bird highway” this time of year! She told me that hundreds of thousands of birds pass through our state on their migration journey! Bring your family + friends and join us by clicking HERE to get your tickets for this amazing class Sat, Sept 19 10am-12pm at Grow Club!
